
St. Cloud State men's hockey announces 2020-21 schedule

The St. Cloud State University men's hockey team, in conjunction with the National College Hockey Conference, announced the release of its 2020-21 schedule on Wednesday, April 8.
The schedule will feature a full-slate of games in the highly competitive NCHC along with non-conference matches against nationally ranked Arizona State, Minnesota State, Bemidji State, Boston College, Northeastern and a return trip to the University of Minnesota's Mariucci Classic. Next year's schedule includes 11 opponents that were ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in the final NCAA DI poll for 2019-20.

"Our 2020-21 schedule will provide us with a challenging line-up of non-conference opponents along with our usual list of top-level match-ups in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference," SCSU head coach Brett Larson said. "The schedule includes games against 11 opponents ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in 2019-20, so our players will be challenged every weekend throughout 2020-21. Our fans will also be treated to some great match-ups at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in 2020-21, including Minnesota State, Bemidji State and Arizona State along with our traditional NCHC rivals.
"After the unfortunate end to the 2019-20 college hockey season, I know that our players and coaches are really looking forward to getting back on the ice and the upcoming 2020-21 season."
The 2020-21 schedule is scheduled to open on Oct. 4 with an exhibition match at home against Guelph University from Guelph, Ontario. The Huskies will then open its regular season at home on Oct. 10-11 with games against Arizona State University followed by games at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center against downstate rival Minnesota State University on Oct. 16-17.
The Huskies will then hit the road to Boston, Mass. for a game at Boston College on Oct. 23 followed by an Oct. 24 game at Northeastern University. Of note, Arizona State finished the 2019-20 season ranked #13, while Minnesota State was ranked third, Boston College was ranked fourth and Northeastern was ranked #19.
SCSU will open its 2020-21 NCHC campaign with a pair of road games at #2 North Dakota on Nov. 6-7. On Nov. 13-14, the Huskies will host Colorado College at the HBNHC before playing a home/home series against non-conference rival #11 Bemidji State with a game at BSU on Nov. 20 and at home on Nov. 21.
Back in NCHC play, the Huskies will travel to Miami on Dec. 4-5 and finish out the first half of the season with a pair of home games against #6 Denver on Dec. 11-12 at the HBNHC.
After the holiday break, SCSU will return to the ice with an exhibition match against the U.S. NTDP squad on Dec. 29 at home. On Jan. 2-3, the Huskies will venture to Minneapolis for games at the Mariucci Classic. This year's opponents at the Classic include #18 Minnesota, Colorado College and #9 Massachusetts.
Back on the NCHC schedule, St. Cloud State will travel to Omaha on Jan. 8-9 before returning home with games against #16 Western Michigan on Jan. 15-16 and Miami on Jan. 22-23 at the HBNHC. On Jan. 29-30, the Huskies venture to Denver and then travel north to Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 5-6 for a pair of games at Amsoil Arena.
SCSU is back home for league games on Feb. 19-20 against Omaha, before making its final regular season road trip on Feb 26-27 to Western Michigan. To finish the 2020-21 regular season, the Huskies will be back home on March 5-6 for games at the HBNHC against Minnesota Duluth.
The 2020-21 NCHC playoffs will begin on March 12-14 with the best of three series, which will determine the four participants in the 2020 NCHC Frozen Faceoff, which will take place on Mar. 19-20 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
Season ticket holder renewals will begin on May 1, and season tickets will be available for the general public on May 15. Full season, Friday only and Saturday only season ticket packages will be available for purchase in 2020-21. SCSU Hockey Flex ticket packages, which consist of a minimum of three games up to a maximum of 10 games will go on sale June 1. Fans should note that four, five and six part payment plans are available again this year for season tickets, which allows fans the ability to spread the payment of their season tickets out between when they decide to renew and October 1, 2020.
SINGLE GAME TICKETS: All single game tickets for SCSU men's hockey in 2020-21 will go on sale Sept. 1, 2020.
