No. 2 seed St. Cloud State will face No. 7 Concordia-St. Paul
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - The St. Cloud State University volleyball team knew it was in the NCAA Tournament. That didn't take any of the suspense away as the #7 Huskies patiently waited to find out exactly where they would be going and who they would be playing Monday night. After a slight delay, it was announced St. Cloud State would head to Warrensburg, Missouri for the NCAA Regional, which will take place December 2-4.Â
After a historic season, the Huskies earned the No. 2 seed in the regional, which is the highest seed the team has ever received heading into an NCAA Tournament. St. Cloud State will face a familiar foe in early December, as the Huskies are set to face No. 7 Concordia-St. Paul in the opening round of the tournament. The Golden Bears were the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe to defeat St. Cloud State in the 2021 regular season, handing the Huskies a 3-1 loss on October 1.
Central Missouri will serve as the host for this year's NCAA Regional after earning the No. 1 seed in the Central Region. The Jennies were also voted #1 in the AVCA's top-25 poll, which was released late Monday afternoon. In fact, the Warrensburg, Missouri Regional will feature seven top-25 ranked teams, including Central Missouri, #4 Northwest Missouri State, #6 Washburn, #7 St. Cloud State, #10 Winona State, #12 Nebraska-Kearney and #15 Concordia-St. Paul.Â
The eight-team regional tournament will take place December 2-4 in Warrensburg, Missouri. More information, including match times and ticket prices, will be released later this week.
