No. 2 Huskies advance to National Dual Semifinal, tie all-division NCAA record with 76th straight dual win

LOUISVILLE, KY. – No. 2 St. Cloud State Wrestling opened their 2022 NWCA National Dual showing in dominant fashion, decimating RV King 47-0 then handling No. 8 Indianapolis 33-9. With the two wins in the Round of 16 and the Quarterfinals, the Huskies have tied the all-division NCAA record of 76 consecutive dual victories, sharing the record with DI Oklahoma State (1937-51). SCSU recorded 11 bonus point wins between the two matches including four pins. The Huskies advance to the Semifinal tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. CT, set for a date with No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney.
SPOTLIGHT PERFORMANCES
Anthony Herrera gave the Huskies a dominant pair of matches at 157, tech falling Ethan Narro (King) 18-3 then breaking down two-time NCAA All-American Dawson Combest (Indianapolis) with a 7-1 decision. No. 1 Joseph Bianchini and Cameron Riggs each scored pins at 141. No. 2 Noah Ryan's dominance was on full display with a pair of major decisions, while heavyweight Kameron Teacher made his return to the mat with a forfeit win and a pin of Dennis Hubbard (Indianapolis). No. 11 Paxton Creese (125), Jared Head (165), Shaeden Scheidt (174) and Cade Linn (184) rounded out the bonus-point winners in the Huskies' 47-0 win over King.
