Huskies unable to hold onto second half comeback
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team was unable to hold on to their second half comeback and fell 72-57 to Upper Iowa Saturday evening at Halenbeck Hall. St. Cloud struggled offensively shooting .317 from the field. Two athletes scored in the double-digit mark.

GAME SUMMARY
It was a slow start to the game as the score was only 14-11 in favor of Upper Iowa at the 10:24 mark of the first half. St. Cloud struggled to get anything moving in the paint while having a difficult time knocking down their shots from outside. St. Cloud would head into the locker down 32-29. Matthew Willert put up nine points while Tony Dahl knocked down seven.

Four minutes into the second half, St. Cloud would take over the lead, 36-35 after Ryan Bagley would drive one home in the lane. Luke Taylor would knock down a jumper to give the Huskies a six-point lead with 14:58 left. From there, the Peacocks would take the momentum back to tie the game at 51 each at 8:49. Upper Iowa then outscored St. Cloud 10-2 to go up by ten points. The Huskies were unable to respond as UIU continued to bring the pressure and go up by 15 points with less than a minute left. In the end, St. Cloud would fall 72-57.

The Huskies are on the road next weekend as they will travel to Southwest Minnesota State Jan. 20 and Sioux Falls Jan. 21. Those games are set for 5:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
