Huskies fall 85-59 in first round of NSIC Tournament
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's basketball team season came to end Tuesday evening at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, SD. The Huskies fell 85-59 to the Cougars in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament ending their season 10-18 overall, 7-15 in conference play. A second half shooting slump struck St. Cloud as they only shot .296 from the field being outscored 45-26. SCSU gave up 21 turnovers with USF scoring 27 points off those turnovers. Four athletes scored in the double-digit marks with one putting up a career high.Â

GAME SUMMARY
Two minutes into the game, it was seven apiece until Tony Dahl hit three threes in a row to put the Huskies up 16-12. At 13:04, Joe Mutimer drove in a layup off a fastbreak to increase the lead by eight, 20-12, over Sioux Falls. St. Cloud held the lead until they were stalled on a 15-0 run by the Cougars as USF took over the lead 30-25 with 6:29 left of the first. SCSU would hit a scoring slump as Sioux Falls increased the lead by ten, 40-30 with two minutes left. The half would close with St. Cloud trailing 40-33.

The Huskies would struggle as they found themself down by 11, 50-39, four minutes into the second half. From there, St. Cloud could not get their shots to fall as they were down by 20, 71-51, with just under seven minutes to play. In the end, the Huskies could not recover from the point deficit as they fell 85-59 to close their season.
