
St. Cloud State Men’s Hockey Falls in NCAA Regional Championship to Close Season

Ingram scores power play goal in second period, Huskies finish with 25 wins in 2022-23
FARGO, N.D. – No. 6 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (25-13-3, 12-9-3) fell to No. 1 Minnesota (28-9-1, 16-4-0 B1G), 4-1, in the NCAA Fargo Regional Championship game on Saturday night at SCHEELS Arena in Fargo, N.D. The Huskies tied the score at 1-1 in the second, but the Gophers responded with a goal just a few minutes later and added two more in the third for the 4-1 result.
Following the game, three Huskies were named to the NCAA Fargo Regional All-Tournament team, as junior forward Veeti Miettinen (Espoo, Finland), sophomore defenseman Jack Peart (Grand Rapids, Minn.) and senior goalie Jaxon Castor (Phoenix, Ariz.) all earned the honor.

- Freshman defenseman Cooper Wylie (Stillwater, Minn.) and senior forward Grant Cruikshank (Delafield, Wis.) recorded assists in the game.
- Castor made 26 saves in the game, including 13 in the first period.
- With the loss, St. Cloud State moves to 36-59-12 all-time against Minnesota.
- The Huskies regional championship game appearance was its sixth in program history.
- SCSU's 25 wins in 2022-23 is tied for the fifth-most in a single season in program history.
- Cruikshank's assist moves him to 98 career points (23 goals / 15 assists) to close his career. His 23 goals is the ninth-most in a single season in program history.
- Castor closed the season with a 2.02 goals-against-average and .924 save percentage, marks which rank second and fifth, respectively, in a single season in program history.
- Senior defenseman Brendan Bushy (Thief River Falls, Minn.) closes his career with the most games played in program history at 178.
