
St. Cloud State University Ranked Among America’s Top 500 Colleges by Forbes

SCSU was the only Minnesota State system school listed in the top-500
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State University recently earned a prestigious spot on Forbes list of America's Top Colleges for 2024. The list recognizes the top 500 colleges and universities across the nation and is based on factors such as student success, return on investment, alumni salaries and influence.
St. Cloud State was the only school in the Minnesota State system and one of eight National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) schools to be named to the list. In Forbes' research of thousands of colleges, SCSU ranked as the 427th best college in the nation for 2024, as well as the 81st ranked second in the Midwest and the 205th public college nationally. The publication described SCSU as a "hockey-focused public school" with a powerhouse Division-I men's ice hockey team.
"St. Cloud State continues to produce career-ready graduates through an individualized approach to student success," SCSU Interim President Larry Dietz said. "We are focused on giving students a clear pathway through tailoring our services and programs to build toward their future."
The university's strong academic programs focus on in-demand fields have led to 93% of Huskies employed in their chosen fields within a year after graduation. The Huskies Advance initiative gives students a chance to work with a faculty mentor to design an educational experience that meets their professional goals and gives them an edge in the job market.
