
Huskies Drop Tightly Contested Game to Pittsburg State

St. Cloud State loses 67-73
Kansas City, Mo. – St. Cloud State Men's Basketball (2-2) lost 67-73 to Pittsburg State in what was a tightly contested game Sunday afternoon. Both teams started slow offensively as the Gorillas held a 14-6 lead at the 13:20 mark of the first half. The offense for St. Cloud State ultimately picked up to end the half as they closed the first half on a 15-4 run over the final six minutes to take a 29-26 lead going into the break. The Huskies carried over their momentum from the first half into the second half as a 9-4 run set the score at 38-30 at the 15:51 mark. Despite the near double-digit lead, the Gorillas battled back throughout the second half as the score would be tied at 52 with 7:36 remaining in the game. After the game was tied, the two teams continued to trade blows as the game would again find itself tied at 62 after a three-pointer by Nate Dahl with 3:51 remaining. Pittsburg State responded with a three-pointer of their own and then started to take control as they held a seven-point lead with 1:07 remaining. St. Cloud State was unable to respond with a run over their own as they would ultimately lose 67-73 for their second loss of the season.
