
St. Cloud State Swimming and Diving Set for First Meets of the New Year

The Huskies will compete against South Dakota State and St. John’s/St. Ben’s this Weekend
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – The St. Cloud State Swimming & Diving team returns to action for the first time in six weeks, with the Men's Team kicking off the weekend at South Dakota State to face the Jackrabbits on Friday, Jan. 17 with events scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. CT. On Saturday, Jan. 18 the Men's and Women's teams will be back competing together, as they travel to Collegeville, MN to compete against St. John's and St. Ben's. Diving events are slated to begin at 9:00 am. CT and Swimming is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. CT.
The Huskies last competed at the Rochester Invite, Dec. 5-7 in Rochester, Minn., where the Men's team finished first and the Women's team came in third. Over the weekend six school records were broken. Sophomore Lance Godard lowered his own 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly records, going a going a 47.52 in the 100-yard butterfly and a 1:48.46 in the 200-yard butterfly. Junior Mason Beck captured the 100-yard freestyle record with a time of 44.20. The relay team of Ben Thompson, Raf Hendriks, Jaxon Bradburn, and Avery Morton broke the 800-yard freestyle relay record with a time of 6:40.54. With a time of 2:57.15, the relay team of Hendriks, Justin Rowles, Godard, and Beck lowered the 400-yard freestyle relay school record.
The Huskies are coming off a very successful Rochester Invite and are looking to continue their success and pick up wins this weekend.
