No. 1 Ranked Huskies Sweep Mustangs Behind 10 Bonus Point Victories

St. Cloud State wins 49-0, move to 3-0 on the year

Marshall, Minn.- No. 1 St. Cloud State Wrestling (3-0, 3-0 NSIC) remained unbeaten as they defeated Southwest Minnesota State 49-0. Deploying their full arsenal of 10 ranked wrestlers, the entire Huskies lineup came away with a bonus point victory in the rout. Starting at 125, No. 15 Conor Knopick got the party started with a 19-1 tech fall victory. No. 7 Sam Spencer and No. 6 Alyeus Craig followed Knopick as they each captured tech falls victories of their own as St. Cloud State burst out of the gates with a 15-0 lead. The newly touted No. 1 ranked wrestler at 149 Colby Njos tallied a 14-3 major decision against Jacob Messner to extend the Huskies lead to 19-0. No. 5 Joel Jesuroga and No. 2 Nick Novak wanted part of the tech fall action at 157 and 165 respectively as they each added five points to the scoreboard, putting SCSU up 29-0. No. 5 Bryce Dagel came away with a major decision at 174 in his bout against Noah Jensen. At 184, No. 10 Bryce FitzPatrick made his dual debut and came with a first period fall at the 2:01 mark. No. 4 Dominic Murphy and No. 2 La'Ron Parks closed out the dual with two tech fall victories as St. Cloud State erupted for 49 points in the sweep against Southwest Minnesota State.

Notables

St. Cloud State is now 40-12 all-time against Southwest Minnesota State and has won 18 consecutive duals.
This was the second straight dual where the Huskies have swept their opponent.
No. 15 Conor Knopick is now 5-3 on the year and remains undefeated in duals with a 3-0 record. Knopick picked up his fourth bonus point victory of the year and second tech fall.
No. 7 Sam Spencer picked up his 15th win of the season and is now 15-1 on the year with a 3-0 record in duals. Spencer now has nine bonus point victories with four tech falls.
No.6 Alyeus Craig captured his eighth bonus point win of the season and is 11-2 on the year with a 2-0 record in duals. Craig earned his fourth tech fall victory of the season.
No. 1 Colby Njos remains unbeaten after picking up his third victory of the season and second major decision. Njos is 3-0 in duals and has a bonus point victory in all three of his bouts.
No. 5 Joel Jesuroga also remains unbeaten after winning his eighth match of the season. Jesuroga has five bonus point wins on the year with four tech falls. He is 3-0 in duals on the season.
No. 2 Nick Novak moved to 11-1 on the year after earning his eighth bonus point win of the season and is 3-0 in duals. Novak won his fifth match of the season by tech fall.
No. 5 Bryce Dagel picked up his 10th win of the season and sits at 10-2 with a 3-0 record in duals. Dagel tallied his first major decision of the season and now has five bonus point wins.
No. 10 Bryce FitzPatrick won his inaugural dual match of the season and now holds an 8-3 record. FitzPatrick earned his second pin of the year and now has four bonus point victories.
No. 4 Dominic Murphy remains undefeated on the season after winning his 10th match of the season and third dual victory. Murphy has accumulated eight bonus point wins with five tech falls.
No. 2 La'Ron Parks also remains undefeated with a 13-0 record and 2-0 record in duals. Parks picked up his first tech fall of the season and fifth bonus point win.
