No. 13 St. Cloud State Wrestling Travels to Marshall for Dual Against Mustangs

Huskies look to stay unbeaten in conference duals
St. Cloud, MN. – No. 13 St. Cloud State Wrestling (11-2, 4-0 NSIC) travel to Marshall, MN. this weekend as they dual against Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, January 17. The dual is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. The Huskies will also be competing in the Worthington Open at 9:00 a.m.

NWCA Poll
St. Cloud State enters this week ranked 13th in the latest NWCA Poll. SCSU started the year ranked eighth and currently hold three ranked wrestlers.
The individuals who are ranked for the Huskies are as follows:
157 Pounds- No. 2 Joel Jesuroga (12-0, 7-0 vs NSIC, 2-0 vs ranked), seven bonus point wins (five major decisions, two tech falls)
174 Pounds- No. 14 Bryce Dagel (8-2, 4-0 vs NSIC, 1-2 vs ranked), six bonus point wins (two major decision, one tech fall, three falls)
184 Pounds- No. 4 Cole Glazier (11-0, 5-0 vs NSIC, 1-0 vs ranked), eight bonus point wins (two major decision, four tech falls, two falls)
Double Glazier
With the turnover of the new year, the Huskies added a second Glazier to their roster in Zach Glazier. After serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the first semester, Glazier will be returning to the mat. He is the brother of 184-pounder Cole Glazier. Prior to SCSU, Zach wrestled at Iowa and South Dakota State where he was a two-time NCAA Qualifier at the Division I level wrestling at 197-pounds. He was the Runner-Up at the Big Ten Championships in 2024 and finished third at the Big 12 Championships in 2025. Glazier has yet to wrestle for SCSU but will be competing at 285.
Last Time Out
St. Cloud State traveled to Cedar Falls this past weekend to compete in the NWCA National Duals. The Huskies placed fifth after a 4-1 record over the two day event.

Series History
Saturday's dual against SMSU will be the 53rd dual between the two programs with the Huskies holding a 40-12 advantage. St. Cloud State has won 18 straight duals over the Mustangs including last years meetings.
No. 1 Ranked Huskies Sweep Mustangs Behind 10 Bonus Point Victories- January 4, 2025
Deploying their full arsenal of 10 ranked wrestlers, the entire Huskies lineup came away with a bonus point victory in the rout.
Starting at 125, No. 15 Conor Knopick got the party started with a 19-1 tech fall victory.
No. 7 Sam Spencer and No. 6 Alyeus Craig followed Knopick as they each captured tech falls victories of their own as St. Cloud State burst out of the gates with a 15-0 lead.
The newly touted No. 1 ranked wrestler at 149 Colby Njos tallied a 14-3 major decision against Jacob Messner to extend the Huskies lead to 19-0.
No. 5 Joel Jesuroga and No. 2 Nick Novak wanted part of the tech fall action at 157 and 165 respectively as they each added five points to the scoreboard, putting SCSU up 29-0.
No. 5 Bryce Dagel came away with a major decision at 174 in his bout against Noah Jensen.
At 184, No. 10 Bryce FitzPatrick made his dual debut and came with a first period fall at the 2:01 mark.
No. 4 Dominic Murphy and No. 2 La'Ron Parks closed out the dual with two tech fall victories as St. Cloud State erupted for 49 points in the sweep against Southwest Minnesota State.

Scouting Southwest Minnesota State
The Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs come into this dual holding a 1-6 record with an 0-2 mark against the NSIC. SMSU has lost to No. 3 Wisconsin-Parkside and Sioux Falls. SMSU is coming off a 2024-25 season where they went 3-12 with an 0-9 mark in the NSIC. The Mustangs finished 11th at Super Region V and did not qualify anyone to the NCAA Tournament. Coming into this season, SMSU was projected to finish 10th in the NSIC.
SMSU returns four wrestlers from last year's Super Region V lineup in Carlo Arreola (125), Chase Hanson (133), Dylan Louwagie (141), and Evan Thompson (285). Arreola was the lone placer who finished sixth. The Mustangs do not hold any ranked wrestlers.
Head Coach Chayse Jackson enters his fifth season with Southwest Minnesota State in 2025-26. Jackson holds a 11-39 record in his tenure and has coached two National Qualifiers and one All-American.
SMSU will wrestle No. 19 UMary on Thursday before facing the Huskies on Saturday.
