Luke Winkel Named NABC All-Central District Second Team

Winkel is first Husky to receive honor since 2019
Kansas City, Mo.– St. Cloud State Men's Basketball sophomore Luke Winkel was named National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Central District Second Team as announced by the association Monday morning. Winkel is the first Husky since Gage Davis in 2019 to be named to the All-District Team. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II.
The Ankeny, Iowa native continues to rack up honors after an incredible sophomore campaign with the Huskies. Winkel led the Huskies in scoring, assists, and steals with 18.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 steals. Averaging 16.0 points per game for his career, he is 12th all-time in scoring per game at SCSU. He became the 47th Husky to reach 1,000 career points and is up to 1,010 after pouring in 599 points this season, the 11th most in a single season in program history. He has also earned D2CCA Second Team All-Central Region, First Team All-NSIC, and NSIC All-Tournament Team.
