Huskies fall in straight sets
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 8 St. Cloud State Volleyball (7-3 overall, 1-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) was swept by No. 2 Wayne State (9-1, 2-0 NSIC) on Saturday afternoon at Halenbeck Hall. WSC took the match 25-19, 25-14 and 25-16.

The Huskies embark on their first conference road trip of 2026 when they travel to play No. 12 Southwest Minnesota State (6-2, 0-1 NSIC) and Sioux Falls (4-5, 0-1 NSIC) next weekend. - Senior outside hitter/defensive specialist Abby Wachal (Lincoln, Neb.) – 16 digs and nine kills
- Senior outside hitter Shelby Kimm (North Liberty, Iowa) – 15 digs and eight kills
- Junior setter Braya LaPlant (Grand Rapids, Minn.) – 23 assists and eight digs
- SCSU moved to to 16-24 all-time against Wayne State and 5-5 against the Wildcats in the last 10 matchups. The Huskies also moved to 3-10 all-time against WSC in St. Cloud.
- The Huskies moved to 0-3 against teams ranked/receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) DII National Poll this season, 1-1 in home matches and 6-2 in three set matches.
- SCSU led the match in digs (59-51). The Wildcats led in points (50-40), kills (36-35), aces (5-2), blocks (9-3) and assists (35-34).
- The Huskies 59 digs were a new season high for a three set match.
- Wachal's 16 digs and nine kills were both match highs. Her 16 digs were also a new season-best mark.
- Kimm played in her 100th career match and tallied 10+ digs for the fifth time this season.
- Freshman setter Izzy Keaveny (Waconia, Minn.) posted eight assists and eight digs.
- Junior libero Laurin Hamann (Manitowoc, Wis.) recorded eight digs.
- Freshman middle blocker Brynn Panek (Avon, Minn.) sent down six kills on a career-high .455 hitting percentage.
