St. Cloud State Women’s Hockey Hires Eric Hirschhaut as Director of Hockey Operations/Video Coordinator

Hirschhaut brings wide variety of experience to Huskies, becomes first-ever full-time Director of Hockey Operations/Video Coordinator for women’s program
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Hockey head coach Mira Jalosuo announced the hiring of Eric Hirshhaut as the Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coordinator ahead of the 2026-27 season. Hirschhaut joins the Huskies with experience in operations, coaching, scouting and player development and becomes the program's first-ever full-time Director of Hockey Operations/Video Coordinator.
For the Huskies, Hirschhaut will prepare and supervise video operations, oversee team travel arrangements, assist in player development and coordinating special events and perform other duties related to elevating the women's hockey program.
"I'm very grateful for St. Cloud State Athletics investing in our women's hockey program and hiring our first-ever full-time Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coordinator," said Jalosuo. "Eric has a deep understanding of the hockey landscape in North America and is very well respected in the industry. His attention to detail will make our student athletes have an exceptional experience off the ice. On the ice, Eric has worked with various of age players and we are excited to see him help our players develop on the ice as well."

"I'm excited to help build on the tradition of St. Cloud State hockey and compete in the WCHA against some of the best teams in the country. I'm also thankful for the chance to learn and work every day with our coaching staff, who have all played at the highest levels for their respective national teams in the Olympic Games or in professional women's hockey. I'm eager to work with our players and help them in any way I can, both on and off the ice. A big thank you to [head coach] Mira Jalosuo, [associate head coach] Jinelle Siergiej, [assistant coach] Noora Räty, [assistant coach] Emily Ach, [director of athletics] Holly Schreiner and the entire athletics department for making this possible. Most recently, Hirschhaut served as an assistant coach at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio, during the 2025–26 season, overseeing individual player development, video analysis, opponent scouting and recruiting. Gilmour's U18 Prep posted a program-best 47–17 record, finished No. 17 nationally and saw all graduating players advance to higher levels of junior hockey.
Prior to Gilmour, Hirschhaut spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), helping the team reach the playoffs in both seasons. While with the Wings, he also contributed to player development, defensive coaching, video analysis, draft scouting and recruiting, working with players who advanced to NCAA Division I and III and USPORTS programs. After graduation, he was a hockey operations intern at the University of Massachusetts and was a scout for the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League (USHL).
A 2022 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Hirschhaut played Division III hockey while earning a degree in Sport Management with minors in Business Administration and Athletic Coaching. He was a recipient of the Chris de Bruyn Award, a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and a SUNYAC Academic Honor Roll selection all eight semesters.
Hirschhaut is a native of Charleston, South Carolina.
