Huskies post back-to-back sweeps for first time in conference play

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – No. 13 St. Cloud State Volleyball (9-4 overall, 3-2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) swept Minnesota State (3-10, 1-4 NSIC) on Thursday afternoon at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud. SCSU took the match 25-13, 27-25 and 25-11.

Senior outside hitter Shelby Kimm (North Liberty, Iowa) – 12-dig, 11 kill double-double on .364 hitting
Junior libero Laurin Hamann (Manitowoc, Wis.) – match highs in digs (18) and aces (3)
Junior middle blocker Kinsey Mohwinkle (Aplington, Iowa) – career-high 10 kills (.444 hitting percentage) and career-high five block assists

NOTABLES

SCSU improved to 65-53 (.551) all-time against Minnesota State and 9-1 against the Mavericks in the last 10 matchups which includes an eight-match win streak. The Huskies also improved to 24-20 (.545) all-time against MSU in St. Cloud.
The Huskies improved to 2-1 in home matches and 8-2 in three set matches this season.
St. Cloud State led the match in points (48-34), kills (36-24), aces (6-2), assists (36-22) and digs (45-29). MSU led in blocks (8-6).
Kimm's 11 kills led the match. It was her sixth double-double of the season and the 25^th of her career. This season she has seven matches with 10+ digs and eight with 10+ kills.
Hamann's 18 digs were her second most in a three-set match this season.
Mohwinkle tied her career high and the match lead in total blocks (five) while setting new single match highs in kills and block assists. Her 5.0 total blocks tied the Huskies single match high of 2026.
Junior setter Braya LaPlant (Grand Rapids, Minn.) recorded a match-high 32 assists and four digs
Senior outside hitter/defensive specialist Abby Wachal (Lincoln, Neb.) posted seven digs and four kills.
Freshman middle blocker Alexis Heinle (Bismarck, N.D.) sent down five kills on eight swings (.500 hitting percentage).
