Bio
2020-21: In his first season with the Huskies, Donohue was named an alternate captain prior to the 2020-21 season. He tallied nine total points with one goal and eight shots in 31 games as a member of the team's top defensive pairing. Donohue tallied a five game scoring streak from February 27 to March 16, helping St. Cloud State finish second in the NCHC regular season standings and advance to the championship game of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff. He scored his first goal as a Husky in the championship game against North Dakota and assisted on Nolan Walker's game-winning goal against Minnesota State at the NCAA Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Donohue additionally tallied a team-leading 45 shots blocked in 2020-21.
Previous school: Prior to joining St. Cloud State, Donohue was a member of the Michigan Tech men's hockey team.
Before SCSU: A transfer from Michigan Tech University, Donohue served as an assistant captain for the Huskies in 2019-20. He scored three goals and 14 assists for MTU in 2019-20 and finished his career in Houghton with seven goals and 51 assists in 117 games played from 2017-20. An All-Academic team selection at MTU, Donohue was selected as his team's outstanding defensive player in 2018-19. He played junior hockey with Wichita Falls of the NAHL in 2016-17 (4 goals/28 assists) and started his junior career with the Penticton Vees of the BCHL. A team captain during his prep career, Donohue helped St. Thomas Academy win two MSHSL state titles...played high school hockey for coach Tom Vannelli...2015 grad of St. Thomas Academy...earned All-Conference, All-Metro and All-State honors in high school...named to MSHSL All-Tournament team.
Personal: The son of Morgan and Celine Donohue...working towards his master's in sports management at SCSU...enjoys golf and spending time with family and friends.
