Ryan Evans is in his second year as a Graduate Assistant in the St. Cloud State Strategic Communications office. He serves as the primary contact for the Huskies women's hockey, soccer and nordic ski teams and the secondary contact for SCSU softball.
He is currently pursuing a master's degree in strategic media communications at St. Cloud State University.
Prior to coming to St. Cloud, Evans worked as an Athletic Communications Student Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications in 2013. He primarily worked with the Badgers football, wrestling and rowing teams and on the game day staff for men's and women's hockey.
Evans's experiences in sports information and writing afforded him an opportunity with the NHL's Buffalo Sabres to cover the 2018 IIHF World Junior Junior Championship in Buffalo, N.Y.—including the United States team featuring SCSU men's hockey head coach Bob Motzko and forward Ryan Poehling.
He has covered college hockey in some capacity since 2010 for College Hockey News, SB Nation College Hockey, U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) and The Daily Cardinal, UW-Madison's independent student newspaper.
Evans, an Eden Prairie, Minn., native, resides in Minneapolis.
