Ainsley Apel

Ainsley Apel enters her first season as the student assistant coach for St. Cloud State Volleyball in 2023. The former Huskies defensive specialist brings extensive playing experience to the SCSU coaching staff and will assist in all areas of operations and player development.
Joining the Huskies following one season as a club coach in Sauk Rapids, Apel has assisted with St. Cloud State preseason camps and Junior Olympic tournaments for the past three years.
Apel spent two seasons with St. Cloud State in 2020 and 2021 as a defensive specialist, helping the NSIC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Huskies go 27-5 in her sophomore campaign.
A native of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, Appel was a four-year starter at Sauk Prairie High School and earned All-State honors while establishing a program record with 1,863 career digs. She played six seasons of club volleyball with Capital Volleyball Academy from U13 through her senior year.
She is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science with a double-minor in Psychology and Biology.
