Before SCSU: A 2016 graduate of Chilton High School where she was coached by throw’s Mary Kay Jannette ... a four-year varsity letter winner in track...served as team captain...named Most Valuable Person...was a two-time state qualifier, earned fifth place in the shot put at the 2016 state meet...is the school’s record holder in the discus...her best marks were 39’6 in the shotput and 147’ in the discus...never planned on being a thrower, but her high school coach convinced her to do it instead of short sprints, but eventually she came to love it and wouldn’t go back because of all the opportunities that she has had a thrower...

Personal:Â The daughter of Scott and Karen Buechel ...lists her throws coach, Mary Jane Janette, as having had the greatest influence on her life...her greatest accomplishment was placing fifth among all throwers in an All-Star Meet in Dubuque, Iowa that included Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa...a community psychology major at SCSU
