Huskies set six new personal bests, 10 newcomers make SCSU debuts in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS – St. Cloud State Track & Field opened the 2025-26 season at the M City Classic, hosted by Minnesota at the Minnesota Fieldhouse in Minneapolis on Friday. Graduate jumper Elena Martinez-Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain) won the high jumps as 10 newcomers made their collegiate track & field debut. The Huskies set six new personal bests and earned

Martinez-Rodriguez cleared 5-1 en route to earning the high jump crowd. Her previous best mark was 1.48m/4-10.25. Also in the field, sophomore throwers Mackenzie McMahon (Baraboo, Wis.) and Kim Feller (East Helena, Mont.) each set new personal best marks in the weigh throw, throwing 13.47m/44-2.5 and 13.26m/43-6 respectively.

Sophomore jumper/sprinter Zaria Stapleton (Nassau, Bahamas) set new personal bests in the 60 meters (8.00) and the long jump (5.04m/16-6.5). Junior jumper/sprinter Myesha Thompson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) finished fourth in the long jump. Senior sprinter/jumper Ava Wilmanns (Cedarburg, Wis.) ran to a new personal best in the 60 meters (8.60).

Freshman Efe Ottah was fifth in the 300 (42.60) and sophomore distance runner Abbygail Nunez (South St. Paul, Minn.) finished fifth in the mile (5:46.30).
