Feller (discus) and Thompson (long jump) win events, Huskies record 11 top-5 finishes

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – St. Cloud State Track & Field tallied two event wins, 11 top-five finishes, seven personal bests, one season best at the CSB Invitational, hosted by Saint Benedict at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville on Thursday. As a team, the Huskies were 5^th of 9 teams with 84 points.

Sophomore thrower Kim Feller (East Helena, Mont.) won the discus with a throw of 39.00m/127-11 and junior sprinter/jumper Myesha Thompson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) won the long jump with a leap of 5.41m/17-9.

Sophomore sprinter/jumper Zaria Stapleton (Nassau Bahamas) posted a new personal best in the 100 meters for the second week in a row (12.52) and also recorded a new PR in the long jump (5.39m/17-8.25), finishing second in the event to Thomspon.

The Huskies had three personal records in the 400 meters - freshman sprinter Efe Ottah (Wednesbury, England) who ran 58.20, junior sprinter Jenna Marxhausen (Two Harbors, Minn.) who ran 58.34 and freshman mid-distance runner Jillian Kneisler (Muskego, Wis.) who ran 1:01.25. It was the second straight sub-60 second performance from both Ottah and Marxhausen.

SCSU also had two new personal bests in the hammer throw – sophomore thrower Mackenzie McMahon (Baraboo, Wis.), who posted a mark of 44.35m/145-6 and junior thrower Savannah Reinke (Malta Bend, Mo.) who recorded a distance of 43.22m/141-9. Junior jumper/sprinter Kinsey Mohwinkle (Aplington, Iowa) eclipsed a new season best mark in the high jump 1.58m/5-2.25 which was good for a runner-up finish in the event.
