Ottah, McMahon and Woelfel Win Events for St. Cloud State Track & Field at Manitou Classic

Ottah (100 and 200 meters), McMahon (discus) and Woelfel (pole vault) record wins as Huskies post 10 personal bests
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Track & Field recorded four event wins, 10 personal bests, one season best and 13 top five finishes in its first outdoor meet in the state of Minnesota at the Manitou Classic, hosted by St. Olaf at Manitou Track in Northfield on Saturday. No team scores were kept at the meet.
Freshman sprinter Efe Ottah (Wednesbury, England) won both the 100 and the 200-meter dashes for the Huskies. She ran 12.60 in the 100 and a new personal best of 25.30 in the 200. They were the second and third event wins of her young career. Sophomore thrower Mackenzie McMahon (Baraboo, Wis.) won the discus throw after recording a career best throw of 40.18m/131-10 for her first career event win. Sophomore pole vaulter Lauren Woelfel (Becker, Minn.) won her second straight pole vault after clearing 3.40m/11-1.75. It was her fourth win of the season (two in indoor and two in outdoor) and fifth of her career.
McMahon also recorded a new personal best in the hammer throw (41.51m/136-2), while fellow sophomore thrower Kim Feller (East Helena, Mont.) posted a new personal best in the discus (39.70m/130-3). The Huskies had three new personal bests in the long jump with freshman sprinter/jumper Zoe Klocksien (5.05m/16-7) setting an all-time personal record and sophomore sprinter/jumper Zaria Stapleton (Nassau Bahamas) (5.17m/16-11.5) and freshman sprinter/jumper Aliyah Horton (St. Paul, Minn.) (4.94m/16-2.5) each setting new outdoor bests. Horton (27.48) and Klocksien (27.40) also each raced to new personal bests in the 200.
In the 400, junior sprinter Jenna Marxhausen (Two Harbors, Minn.) broke the 60 second barrier for the first time in her career, running 58.95 to take down her previous best of 1:00.64 from the indoor season. Sophomore distance runner Abbygail Nunez (South St. Paul, Minn.) ran a new season best in the 800 (2:22.78).
