St. Cloud State Track & Field Produces 10 Personal Bests at Minnesota State Open

Huskies win 4x400 relay, record 14 top-10 finishes
MANKATO, Minn. – St. Cloud State Track & Field posted 10 personal bests, one season best, one event win and 14 top 10 finishes at the Minnesota State Open, hosted by Minnesota State at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex in Mankato on Monday. No team scores were kept at the meet.
The quartet of junior sprinter Jenna Marxhausen (Two Harbors, Minn.), freshman sprinter Efe Ottah (Wednesbury, England), freshman mid-distance runner Jillian Kneisler (Muskego, Wis.) and sophomore distance runner Abbygail Nunez (South St. Paul, Minn.) won the 4x400 relay in 3:59.98, which is the first time SCSU has run a sub four-minute 4x4 since the 2024 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Outdoor Championships which were held on the same track.
Additionally, Marxhausen ran a new personal best in the prelims of the 100 meters (12.70) and finished first in her heat to qualify for the finals in which she ran another personal best (12.68), Ottah ran a new personal best in the 100 meters (12.48), Kneisler recorded a career best in the 400 hurdles (1:08.13) and Nunez raced to a new personal record in the 800 (2:20.54).
Other personal bests on the track were set by sophomore sprinter Emma Hoppman (Red Wing, Minn.) in both the flat 400 meters, where she broke 60 for the first time (59.73) and in the 400 hurdles where she broke 70 for the first time (1:09.9) and sophomore sprinter/jumper Zaria Stapleton (Nassau Bahamas) who ran 12.53 in the 100.
In the field, junior thrower Savannah Reinke (Malta Bend, Mo.) recorded a new personal best in the hammer throw (42.89m/140-8), freshman sprinter/jumper Aliyah Horton (St. Paul, Minn.) posted a new outdoor career best in the long jump (4.99m/16-4.5) and sophomore thrower Kim Feller (East Helena, Mont.) posted a season best mark in the javelin throw (30.95m/101-6).
