St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University volleyball team took on #1 ranked Concordia University, St. Paul this evening in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up in Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies fell in straight sets to the Golden Bears with set scores of 16-25, 17-25, and 11-25.
St. Cloud State falls to 13-14 overall and 7-12 in the NSIC. Concordia-St. Paul improves to 27-1 overall and 19-0 in conference action.
The Golden Bears hit .360 as a team during the three sets, while St. Cloud State averaged just a .039 attack percentage.
Ellie Dietzen (Black Creek, Wis.) led all players for St. Cloud State with eight kills while hitting .353. Dietzen also collected two blocks.
Allison Butler (Burnsville) dug up a team-high seven balls.
Erin Ohlemann (Golden Valley) dished out 11 assists and picked up six digs.
Erienne Lauersdorf led the Golden Bears with 13 kills and a .600 hitting percentage, while Amanda Konetchy dished out 40 assists for Concordia-St. Paul.
The Huskies will return to action tomorrow evening as they take on Minnesota State University – Mankato at 7:30 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. Tomorrow evening will serve as Parent's Night and Senior Night. The Huskies lone senior, Ellie Dietzen, will be honored for her accomplishments during her St. Cloud State volleyball career.
