Katie Kruchten wins individual title, men's golf team ties for team title at UIU Spring Invite

Waterloo, Iowa – The St. Cloud State men's and women's golf teams finished the Upper Iowa University Spring Invite on a high note. Senior Katie Kruchten (St. Cloud, Minn.) was the women's individual medalist and the Huskies men's team tied for first in the overall standings. The Invite was played at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4.
Kruchten was the women's individual medalist posting a 79-81 for 160 to win by two strokes over Rachel Gray of Concordia-St. Paul.
The women's squad finished fourth in the team standings with a two-day total 342-343=685.
Laurel Enstrom and Madison Tenney posted top 15 individual finishes with identical scores of 85-86 for a 171 and 14th place tie.

Senior Tyler Koivisto (Cokato, Minn.) led the men's team to a first place tie with Augustana College. Koivisto finished in a tie for second on the individual leaderboard after firing a final round of two under par 70. He improved his score by 11 strokes from the first day. His two-day total of 81-70=151 was three strokes behind the individual medalist Tyler Jensvold of Augustana.
As a team the Huskies posted a score of 317-301 for a 618 total. Chase Hahne tied for eighth place with round of 76-78 for 154 and Jack Barnhartt tied for 12th following rounds of 80-76=156.
