St. Cloud State Men’s Golf Finishes 8th at Maverick Fall Brawl

Owen Hoehn finishes tied for fifth in Huskies return to golf
HUDSON, Wis. – St. Cloud State Golf completed their first tournament of the 2026 season, the Maverick Fall Brawl hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato and Concordia-St. Paul. The men's team finished eighth shooting 309, 308 (+49) as a team, while the three individuals competing for the women's team finished SCSU's first competitive tournament since the fall of 2019.
Today was the second and final round of a 36-hole two-day event at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, WI.
Once again, it was the Freshman, Owen Hoehn leading the way, as he finished tied for fifth, playing one shot better than yesterday, shooting +2, good for a two-round total of 147 (+5). Peyton Carr finished tied for 24th, also shooting one shot better than yesterday (+5) for a two-round total of 153 (+11), Will Spence shot a pair of 78's for a two-round total of 156 (+14), Carter Whitworth improved by three shots today to fire an 81 (+10) to finish with a two-round total of 165 (+23), and Cam Kaye finished the round with an 83 for a two-round total of 163 (+21).
The Husky women's team's three individuals finished the weekend with Freshman, Emma Forsberg leading the charge, shooting a 96 today for a two-round total of 199. Alyssa Scherping shot a two-round total of 222, and Emma Ryan rounded out the scoring with a two-round total of 279.

Huskies will play their next tournament at the Jewel Invitational hosted by Concordia-St. Paul at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, MN next Monday and Tuesday, September 21st-22nd.
