#2 Huskies win battle against nationally ranked UW-Parkside

The #2 ranked St. Cloud State University wrestling team (8-1, 0-0 NSIC) won a battle over the #6 ranked Wisconsin-Parkside squad 25-15 to remain an unbeaten 3-0 on the weekend in Kenosha, WI at the Ranger Duals on Saturday, Jan. 16.
Brett Velasquez started the dual off with receiving a forfeit at 125lbs giving the Huskies an early 6-0 edge. However, St Cloud State would drop the next two weights by close decision at both 133lbs and 141lbs.
#6 ranked Jay Hildreth would then spark a three consecutive win streak starting at 149lbs with Larry Bomstad picking up the decision at 157lbs and #1 Clint Poster with the fall at 165lbs. Wisconsin-Parkside would then pick up 3 consecutives victories by close decisions at 174lbs, 184lbs and 197lbs; in attempts to steal the dual away.
However #1 ranked Austin Goergen would end their run quickly, with a pin in the first period to seal the dual for the Huskies and earning the squad a perfect 3-0 dual record on the weekend.
The #2 ranked Huskies will continue their 2015-16 campaign next Friday and Saturday competing away against both NSIC conference members Minnesota State University Moorhead and Northern State University.
