#2 St. Cloud State wrestling back on the road this weekend

The #2 ranked St. Cloud State University wrestling team (10-1, 2-0 NSIC) will continue its 2015-16 campaign with a pair of NSIC duals this weekend. Â On Friday, Jan. 29, the Huskies will travel to Minot State University in Minot, N.D. for a 7 p.m. match against the Beavers. Â SCSU will wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Jan. 30 with a 2 p.m. match at NSIC rival University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D.

St. Cloud State Wrestling Notes and News:
- The Huskies opened defense of its NSIC title with a pair of victories in league play on Jan. 22-23. Â The Huskies have won four consecutive NSIC championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
- SCSU posted a 44-3 win at Minnesota State Moorhead on Jan. 22 and the Huskies completed the weekend NSIC sweep with a 44-4 win over Northern State on Jan. 23.
- The Huskies have now won 38 consecutive matches in NSIC competition. Â The last time the Huskies lost an NSIC dual match was an 18-13 setback against Augustana on Jan. 27, 2011.
- SCSU is ranked #2 in the nation in the latest Division II coaches poll. Â SCSU wrestlers ranked in the latest national poll at the DII level include Tim Prescott (#1 at 125 pounds), Clint Poster (#1 at 165 pounds), Jay Hildreth (#6 at 149 pounds), Clayton Jennissen (#4 at 174 pounds) and Austin Goergen (#1 at 285-pounds).
- Poster owns a 25-1 record this season at 165-pounds. Â He also has 13 falls this season.
- At 285-pounds, Goergen is 23-0 this season. Â He leads the club this year with 14 falls to his credit.
- Jennissen joined the Huskies' 20-win club this season with his two wins this weekend. Â Jennissen now owns a 20-5 record for the Huskies in 2015-16.
- Hildreth continues to impress this year at 149-pounds after taking a redshirt season in 2014-15.  Hildreth gained a win over Minnesota State Moorhead on Jan. 22 and now owns a 21-4 record in 2015-16.
- Poster owns a 133-15 record during his career with the Huskies. Â The team record for most career wins is 144 and it was set by Tad Merritt from 2007-12.
- Goergen now has 14 falls in 2015-16 and is just five falls away from his current team season record of 19 falls set in 2013-14. Â In his career, Goergen now has 48 falls as a Husky.
- The Huskies will open their home season on Feb. 4 with a dual against Southwest Minnesota State. Â The match will be held at the Pierz-Healy H.S. gym in nearby Pierz, Minn. Â This is the hometown of SCSU wrestler Clint Poster. Â The night will also include a high school dual between Pierz and Cambridge-Isanti H.S. Â The head coach of Cambridge-Isanti H.S. is former SCSU grappler Neil Jennissen, who is also the father of current SCSU wrestler Clayton Jennissen.
- The SCSU wrestling match on Feb. 11 has been designated as Youth/Middle Schoo/High School Night at SCSU Wrestling. Â The Huskies will host Upper Iowa that evening at 7 p.m. Â All youth (grade K-12) will be admitted to the match for just $1. Â This is a great opportunity to see the defending national champions back at Halenbeck Hall. Â
