Huskies advance to championship match at 2016 NWCA DII Duals

The #2 St. Cloud State University wrestling team rolled into the championship match of the 2016 NWCA Division II National Duals with a solid 30-7 victory over Pittsburgh-Johnstown in the semifinals on Saturday, Jan. 9 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Huskies will now face Notre Dame (Ohio) in the championship match of the NWCA Duals on Jan. 9 at 4:30 p.m. (ET)  Notre Dame earned its ticket to the finals on the strength of a 20-12 victory over #1 ranked Maryville in the other semifinal bout.  Fans can listen to the match on the KVSC sports stream at kvsc.org/listen/sports.m3u
Results of the match against Pittsburgh-Johnstown are listed below. Â Highlights of the match included a thrilling 2-1 decision win by #1 Tim Prescott over #8 ranked Evan Link of UPJ at 125. Â In a showndown between two of the nation's top heavweights #1 ranked Austin Goergen charted a 16-0 tech fall over #3 ranked Damon Sims of UPJ.
