The St. Cloud State rookie comes in as an internationally accomplished goaltender
St. Cloud State women's hockey freshman Janine Alder comes to Minnesota from Zurich, Switzerland as an internationally accomplished goaltender. Alder was a member of the Swiss national women's hockey team that won the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Switzerland defeated Sweden, 4-3, in the third place game.

Prior to joining the Huskies, Alder played for EHC Winterhur in Switzerland's second-highest men's junior league. With EHC Winterhur, she won a bronze medal at the 2013 National Swiss Championships.

How old were you when you started playing hockey and what was your first team's name?: Four years old, EHD Dubendorf.
One thing people don't know about you: I'm very interested in watching Formula 1 and MotoGP and riding my motorcycle.
Advice for young hockey players: It's the best sport in the world and a very important experience for life. It builds character.
Sport you'd like to try, but never have: Horseback riding

Plans/goals for the future: Successful graduation at SCSU, help the team to achieve the goals we've set for ourselves and competing in the next Olympics.
