St. Cloud State wrestling seniors to be honored on Feb. 19

#2 St. Cloud State University wrestling (15-1, 7-0 NSIC) will complete the regular season portion of its 2015-16 schedule with a NSIC dual match against Augustana University (18-5, 5-2 NSIC) on Friday, Feb. 19. Â The match in SCSU's Halenbeck Hall is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The match will mark the final regular season home appearance for the six SCSU seniors in 2015-16. Â This group of talented student-athletes includes V.J. Giulio (197-pounds), #5 Jay Hildreth (149-pounds), Garrett Miller (184-pounds), Matt Nelson (141-pounds), #1 Clint Poster (165-pounds) and #1 Tim Prescott (25-pounds). Â This class of SCSU wrestlers have been part of one of the Huskies' best eras in the history of the sport. Â Over the last four seasons, the Huskies won an NCAA DII team title in 2015 and they finished sixth in 2013 and second in 2013 at the NCAA championships.

The Huskies have also won four consecutive NSIC championships during this run, which includes titles in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016...and has extended SCSU's conference title streak to five consecutive seasons. Â Since the 2012-13 season, SCSU has carded a 72-4 overall dual record and a 31-0 record in NSIC dual competiton.
A victory for the Huskies on Feb. 19, would provide the Huskies with sole possesion of first place in the NSIC. Â SCSU recently clinched at least a share of the NSIC championship with its 35-3 victory over Upper Iowa on Feb. 11 at Halenbeck Hall. Â A victory would also extend the Huskies undefeated streak in NSIC dual competition to 44 consecutive victories. Â The last time SCSU lost a dual match in NSIC action was an 18-13 loss to Augustana on Jan. 27, 2011.
Tickets for the match against Augustana are available at the gate on Feb. 19. Â All SCSU students with a valid SCSU student ID card will be admitted FREE to this match. Â Just show your ID card at the gate and you get in FREE...it's that easy!

ST. CLOUD STATE WRESTLING NEWS AND NOTES:
- SCSU (15-1, 7-0 NSIC) captured its fifth consecutive NSIC championship with a convincing 35-3 victory over #8 Upper Iowa on Feb. 1.
- The Huskies have now won NSIC titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and they will finish up their conference regular season schedule on Feb. 19 with a 7 p.m. home match against Augustana University at Halenbeck Hall. Â
- The Huskies have now won 43 consecutive NSIC dual matches dating back to an 18-13 loss to Augustana on Jan. 27, 2011.
- SCSU gained a #2 ranking in the latest Division II national poll. Â SCSU's Tim Prescott (#1 at 125), Jay Hildreth (#5 at 149), Larry Bomstad (#6 at 157), Clint Poster (#1 at 165), Uthman Rabiu (#8 at 184) and Austin Goergen (#5 at 285) all received national individual rankings.
- Clint Poster was named the NSIC Wrestler of the Week on Feb. 15 . Â This marks the third time this season that Poster has earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week honors.
- Clint Poster owns a 30-1 record this season with a team leading 16 pins to his credit.
- Austin Goergen owns a 27-1 record with 15 pins in 2015-16.
- Jay Hildreth scored his 25th win of the season on Feb. 11. Â His season record now stands at 25-4.
- Poster owns a 138-15 career record with the Huskies. Â The team record of 144 career wins is owned by Tad Merritt, who wrestled at SCSU from 2008-12.
