Moorhead, Minn.- The St. Cloud State Women's Basketball team's losing streak was stretched to three on Saturday afternoon when they suffered a tough loss to the #15 Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons by a score of 95-69.

The Huskies (8-10, 6-8 NSIC) stayed with the Dragons (16-2, 13-1 NSIC) at the beginning of the game, trading off points with the NSIC leaders until the match was tied 14-14. That's when the Dragons would find their groove, extending to a 12 point lead by the end of the first quarter.

The Huskies' offense would falter when trying to get going, while the Dragons had no difficulty piling on the points, running out to a 28 point lead with just three minutes left to play in the game. The Huskies would close that lead down by just two, with the final score sitting at 95-69.

St. Cloud State was lead by Betsy MacDonald who put up for 14 points in the effort. Amanda Christianson added 13 points, while Brianna Johnson led the team in rebounds with five. Andrea Thomas dished out five assists in the loss to lead the team.

Moorhead was led by Cassidy Thorson who picked up 28 points and Drew Sannes picked up a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Huskies return home Jan. 27-28 when they play host to Wayne State and Augustana in a pair of cross conference games. Tickets are still available and may be purchased online at scsutickets.com or at the gate.
