1/25/2017 1:35:00 PM | Women's Basketball
St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Team will return home to Halenbeck Hall for a pair of NSICÂ cross conference match ups with Wayne State College on Jan. 27 and Augustana University on Jan. 28. The games will mark the only regular season meetings the Huskies will have with both teams.Â
The Huskies (8-10, 6-8 NSIC) open up action this weekend against the Wildcats of Wayne State College (14-5, 9-5 NSIC) on Jan. 27.Â
The two teams faced off only once last season in Wayne, Neb. The Wildcats were able to best the Huskies in that meeting, winning 87-77. Chelsea Nooker and Betsy MacDonald each had 17 points to lead the Huskies in the game.Â
Tip off is set for 6 p.m. for the match up.Â
The Huskies will then welcome in the Vikings of Augustana University (15-6, 10-4 NSIC) on Jan. 28 for Alumni Night.Â
The Huskies also only saw the Vikings one time last season, defeating them on their home court 81-71. Chelsea Nooker had a standout game putting up 23 points and going 8-13 from the field. Betsy MacDonald added 22 points of her own in the match.Â
Tip off is set for 4 p.m. against the Vikings. An Alumni Game will begin at 2 p.m. Fans won't want to miss a ceremony celebrating Olympian Heather Miller Koch who played for the Women's Basketball team at halftime of the Men's game beginning at 6 p.m.
The Huskies will be on the road the next to weekends traveling to Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State, U-Mary, and Minot State before returning home to host MSU-Moorhead and Northern State for the final home weekend of action Feb. 17-18. Feb. 18 will be Senior Night where the Huskies will honor seniors Chelsea Nooker and Betsy MacDonald and all they're accomplishments with the program. Tickets can be purchased for all remaining home games at the gate or at scsutickets.com. Students, don't forget that you can get into all Huskies home games with a simple swipe of your student ID.Â
