Huskies Travel South to Take On CSP and Minnesota State

St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State women's basketball team will be on the road this weekend, Feb. 3-4, when they travel to take on Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State in a pair of cross conference match ups.Â
The Huskies (9-11, 7-9 NSIC) will first travel to the Gangelhoff Center to take on the Golden Bears of Concordia-St. Paul (15-7, 11-5 NSIC) on Feb. 3. Â The Huskies and Golden Bears met twice last season, once in the regular season, and again in the first round of the 2016 NSIC Sanford Health Tournament.Â
St. Cloud won the regular season meeting at Halenbeck Hall by a solid ten points at 84-74. Betsy MacDonald had a very solid game putting up 19 points and 6 assists in the match. Chelsea Nooker added 16 of her own points and dished out 7 assists.Â
The Golden Bears would return to St. Cloud for the first round playoff match, this time playing spoiler and ending the Huskies' season with a 83-72 win. Andrea Thomas put up 18 points in the game, and Betsy MacDonald added 14 points, while both players had 5 assists to lead the team.Â
Tip off between the Huskies and Golden Bears is set for 6 p.m Friday night. Fans can watch the action here or following along with live stats here.Â
The Huskies will then travel to Mankato to take on Minnesota State at the Taylor Center on Feb. 4.Â
The two teams met only once last season with the Huskies defeating the Mavericks (12-8, 8-8 NSIC) in a tight game by a score of 62-57. Thomas put up 13 points on the night while Betsy MacDonald added 10 points and four assists for the Huskies.Â

The Huskies will not be back on home court until Feb. 17-18 when they close out the regular season with games against MSU-Moorhead and Northern State. Feb. 18 also marks Senior Night, when the Huskies' will honor Betsy MacDonald and Chelsea Nooker for their historic contributions to the program.Â
