
Women's Basketball Signs Four During Early Signing Period

St. Cloud, Minn. - St. Cloud State head women's basketball coach Lori Fish announced the signing of four student-athletes for the 2018-19 academic school year during the early signing period.
The team signed forward Mariah Alipate (Prior Lake, Minn./ Eastview H.S.) and guards Kelsey Peschel (Sauk Centre, Minn./Sauk Centre H.S.), Amanda Porth (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran H.S.) and Brehna Evans (De Pere, Wis./West De Pere H.S.).
"We are very excited to add Mariah, Kelsey, Amanda, and Brehna to our program," Coach Fish explained. "All four young women are high character and high energy individuals. While all four are outstanding basketball players, they are even better people, who we envision leaving a lasting impact on Huskies Basketball and St. Cloud State."

Prior to SCSU: Attends Eastview High School…has played varsity basketball since eighth grade...helped Eastview reach the Minnesota State Tournament in each of her first four seasons with the program…volunteers with special education students…a member of Best Buddies program.
"Mariah is a very skilled forward who has the ability to score in a variety of ways and stretch defenses," Coach Fish said. "She has an outstanding basketball IQ, and makes those around her better."

Prior to SCSU: Attends Sauk Centre High School…finished her junior basketball season averaging 12.6 points per game, three rebounds, 2.8 assists, and two steals per game …joined Sauk Centre's 1,000 point club as a junior…was named to West Central all-conference team in all three varsity seasons…named honorable mention all-state as a junior...named to West Central all-conference volleyball team as a junior
"Kelsey is a guard that can extend defenses with her shooting ability," Coach Fish stated. "Her work ethic and tenacity makes her a difference-maker on the defensive end of the floor. She comes from a traditionally strong high school program and understands what it takes to be successful."

Prior to SCSU: Attends Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School…a three-year member of varsity basketball team…as a junior, led her team in assists, steals, and blocks…a Second Team All-Conference selection as a junior…also has participated in soccer and track and field.
"Amanda is an extremely outgoing individual, whose personality will draw people to her immediately," said Coach Fish."She has great size and athleticism at the point guard position, which will be of tremendous value on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor."
Brehna Evans

West De Pere H.S.
Prior to SCSU: Attends West De Pere High School...finished her junior season averaging 17 points, four steals, four assists, and four rebounds a game…currently sitting at 829 career points…named First Team All-Conference after both her sophomore and junior seasons…Honorable Mention All-State following junior season…her 42 percent shooting from three-point range ranked in the top 10 for three-point percentage in the state of Wisconsin last season…also a standout track and field athlete…a three-time sectional champion and state qualifier in the 800m run…First Team All Conference in all three track seasons…holds three school records: 800m run, 1600m relay, and 3200m relay…has twice been named team MVP in track…a member of the National Honor Society…participates in French Club.
"Brehna is a dynamic scorer who has the versatility to play multiple positions on the floor," explained Coach Fish. "She is an outstanding offensive player, but also has the length and toughness to have a great impact on the defensive end of the floor."
