Women's Basketball Travels to U-Mary, Minot State for NSIC North Matches

St. Cloud, Minn.- The St. Cloud State Women's Basketball team is set to travel north this weekend for a pair of conference match-ups with the University of Mary and Minot State University Feb. 10-11.Â
St. Cloud State will open the weekend's action in Bismark, N.D. to face off with the University of Mary on Feb. 10. The Huskies hosted the Marauders early in the season on the final night of 2016. The Marauders (12-14, 7-11 NSIC) were able to take the victory away from the Huskies late in the game, defeating the Huskies late in the fourth quarter to win 82-81. Mallie Doucette led the Huskies with 20 points on the match, while Betsy MacDonald added 18, Andrea Thomas put up 15, and Chelsea Nooker rounded out the double-digit scoring with 12 points. Nooker also led the team in rebounds, grabbing eight on the match.Â
The Huskies and Marauders are set to tip-off at 6 pm from the McDowell Activity Center. Fans can follow along with live stats here or watch the game here.Â
The Huskies will travel to Minot, N.D. to square off against the Beavers of Minot State University on Feb. 11. The Huskies and Beavers (3-21, 1-17 NSIC) faced off on Dec. 30 previously with the Beavers defeating the Huskies on home court 77-63. Betsy MacDonald led the Huskies efforts in the game, putting up 15 points, while fellow senior Chelsea Nooker added 12. Freshman Brianna Johnson had the hot hands for the Huskies in the game as she grabbed nine rebounds to lead the team.Â
The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m. from the MSU Dome. Fans can follow along with live stats here or watch the game here.Â
The Huskies will return home next weekend, Feb. 17-18, to close out regular season action when they play host to Northern State University and Minnesota State-Moorhead. Feb. 18 will mark Senior Night as the Huskies honor seniors Betsy MacDonald and Chelsea Nooker for their historic contributions to the St. Cloud State Women's Basketball program.
