St. Cloud State Men's Golf places 11th at J.R. Watkins Invite

The St. Cloud State University men's golf team completed its trip to Lake City, Minn. with an 11th place finish at the 2017 J.R. Watkins Invitational on Sept. 25-26. The two-day tournament was played at The Jewell Golf Course.

The Huskies posted a 311 team score on Sept. 26, which provided them with a two-day score of 614. Central Missouri, Arkansas Fort Smith and Minnesota State Mankato all led the team scoring at 586.

Individually, Troy Ryannanen was SCSU's top golfer with a 34th place finish at 152 (76-76). Regan Steen placed 42nd with a 153 (74-79), while David Scharenbroich was tied for 49th at 154 (77-77). Riley Duncanson placed 57th for the Huskies at 155 (76-79) and the group was completed by Austin Janski with a 160 (79-81).

The Huskies will continue their season on Oct. 1-2 by hosting the 2017 Huskies Invitational at the St. Cloud Country Club. The first day of play on Oct. 1 will begin at 11 a.m., while the second day of competiton will feature a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.

The tournament will feature men's teams from UM Crookston, Manitoba, Bemidji State, Augustana, Concordia-St. Paul, South Dakota School of Mines and SCSU. The tournament will also include women's teams from SCSU, Minnesota State Mankato, Manitoba and Minnesota State Moorhead.
