SCSU swim and dive competes at Sioux Falls Invitational

The St. Cloud State men's and women's swim and dive teams opened its weekend at the University of South Dakota Quad Duals on Nov. 2 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
SCSU claimed several top performances at the event including a first place finish by the SCSU men's 400 medley relay with a time of 3:30.47. The foursome was comprised of Anthony Schwartz, Connor Deitrich, Robert Leigh and Brady Wolkow.
In the men's 1000 freestyle, SCSU's Jose Alamo placed second at 10:12.32 and Joel Huth placed second in the 200 free at 1:45.17.
In the women's 50 free, Jennifer Thompson placed third with a time of 24.40 and William Nguyen placed second at 22.36 in the men's 50 free.
In the men's 400 IM, Anthony Schwartz placed third with a time of 4:23.36. Alyssa Doherty led SCSU with a third place finish in the women's 1M diving event, while Mady Brinkman was fourth and Britin Thomsen was fifth in the event. In the men's 1M diving event, Scott Stellick was third in the 1M diving.
Thompson won the women's 100 freestyle event at 54.17 and Huth was second in the 100 men's freestyle at 47.84.
Annie Hart placed second in the women's 100 back at 58.77 and Anthony Schwartz won the 100 men's backstroke at 53.09.
In the women's 3M diving, Thomsen was second with a score of 256.10. Stellick placed third in the men's 3M diving event with a score of 264.00. In the women's 100 breaststroke Brooke Calvin placed third at 1:08.27 and Connor Deitrich placed third overall in the men's 100 breaststroke at 1:00.40.
To cap the first day of competition at Sioux Falls, SCSU's women's 200 freestyle relay team placed first at 1:38.15. The foursome is comprised of Jen Thomson, Christian Ware…Chelsea Gehrke and Alexis Burroughs.
The remainder of meet in Sioux Falls will completed on Nov. 3 in Sioux Falls.
