Men’s team wins dual meet, women’s team places second

ROCHESTER, Minn. – St. Cloud State Swim & Dive competed against Minnesota State and UW-LaCrosse on Saturday in Rochester, Minn., and LaCrosse, Wis. The men earned a dual meet win over UW-LaCrosse, 932-735, while the women finished second (686 points) in a tri-meet against Minnesota State (869 points) and UW-LaCrosse (625 points).

The men record 13 first-place finishes in the meet, led by freshman Youssef Amr (Cairo, Egypt) and senior Jimmy Nord (Chisago City, Minn.), who each recorded two event wins. Amr finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (46.75) and 100-yard backstroke (50.12), while Nord finished first in the 1-Meter Dive (287.45) and 3-Meter Dive (317.65).

For the women, freshman Bethany Hale (LaCrosse, Wis.) posted a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.27) and a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (59.43).
