#1 St. Cloud State wrestling brings home 45-0 victory at Minnesota State Moorhead

The undefeated and #1 ranked St. Cloud State University wrestling team (16-0, 5-0 NSIC) continued its success in the NSICÂ this season with a 45-0 shutout at Minnesota State Moorhead on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Moorhead, Minn.
The Huskies dominated the dual match with three falls, two tech falls and two major decisions. The victory extends SCSU's winning streak to 25 duals matches dating back to 2016-17. St. Cloud State will continue its 2017-18 season on Feb. 3 with a 2 p.m. match at #16 Minnesota State Mankato.
In action at Moorhead, SCSU opened the night with an 8-5 win by #5 Brett Velasquez at 125-pounds. Shiquan Hall continued to chart impressive numbers with a 14-4 major decision at 133-pounds, while #3 Jarred Oftedahl coined SCSU's first fall of the night with a pin at 2:11 against Moorhead's Zach Scott at 141-pounds.
At 149-pounds, #1 James Pleski rolled to a 24-8 tech fall win and Brett Stolarzyk scored a 16-2 major decision win at 157 pounds. At 165-pounds, Devin Fitzpatrick added a 3-2 decision win over MSUM's Weston Dobler. #3 Kolton Eischens returned to the lineup for the Huskies and looked very sharp with an 18-3 tech fall vs. MSUM's Adam Blees. Â
#8 Brady Nelson scored a 10-4 win at 184-pounds and #6 Vince Dietz at 197-pounds carded a fall at 1:59. To cap the night, #10 Lawrence Phillips tallied his 12th pin of the season with a fall at 1:05 in action at 285-pounds.
