St. Cloud State soccer pitches 4-0 shutout at Northern State

The St. Cloud State University soccer team (4-3-3, 3-2-2 NSIC) scored its fourth shutout of the 2019 season with a 4-0 victory at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
The Huskies dominated the game during both halves as rookie forward Jenna Dominguez opened the offense with a goal for the Huskies at 8:22. This was the first collegiate goal for Dominguez, a resident of Geneva, Illinois and grad of Geneva H.S.
SCSU boosted its lead to 2-0 with a marker by Claire Shea at 15:21. The goal was Shea's team leading fourth goal of the season and 10 point of 2019. The goal gave the Huskies a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.
In the second half, SCSU padded its lead to 3-0 with a goal by Brooke Bares at 60:17. This was Bares' first goal for the Huskies in 2019 and her fourth career goal at SCSU. To ice the decision, SCSU's Tatyana Gusakow scored her team's fourth goal of the game at 88:23 with an assist from Nicole Friis. This was Gusakow's third goal of 2019 and her fourth career goal.
In the nets, Zoe Welsh gained her fourth shutout of the season with five saves in the game. This was her 10th career shutout at SCSU.
The Huskies will continue their 2019 season on Oct. 18 with a 4 p.m. home date against Upper Iowa. On Oct. 20, the Huskies will complete the NSIC home weekend with a 1 p.m. match at Husky Stadium against Winona State.
