Dammann Earns NSIC North Player Of the Week Honors After Matching Career High

BURNSVILLE, MINN. – St. Cloud State University women's basketball player Madelin Dammann (Sr., G, Waconia, Minn.) has been named NSIC North player of the week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Dammann has started off her senior season with quite the bang. In the Huskies 55-53 loss to Northern Michigan University, Dammann shined despite offense being scarce for both teams. This past weekend against Northern Michigan University, the senior used her experience and high basketball IQ to wheel the Huskies back from a 15-point deficit. Dammann tied a career high and scored 27-points, accounting for over 50 percent of the Huskies offense, while adding four steals, and a pair of rebounds and assists. Dammann was 11-of-20 from the field and was an even more impressive 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Strong play from Dammann has helped the Huskies to a strong 3-1 (0-0 NSIC) start despite playing a tough non-conference schedule. Dammann is averaging 13.5 points, five rebounds per contest, and nine total steals. St. Cloud State will continue to lean on the leadership of Dammann along with her steady play if the team wants to finish atop the NSIC and make another strong run in the conference tournament.
The Huskies will be back in action November 30, at 2 p.m. in Duluth, Minn. as they start conference play off with a big game against the Bulldogs. If you are unable to make the game in Duluth, follow along on twitter @SCSUHUSKIES_WBB or watch the stream live.
