SCSU women's swim and dive to compete at NSIC championships

The St. Cloud State University women's swimming and diving team will compete at the 2019 NSIC championships on Feb. 13-16 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The championships will be hosted by the University of Sioux Falls at the Midco Aquatic Center.
The championship will begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 13 with the 200 IM trials. Finals on the first day will begin at 6 p.m. and they will include the 1000 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and 200 medley relay. Â
Finals on the second day on Feb. 14 will include the 200 freestyle relay, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 1M diving and 400 medley relay.  Events on Feb. 15 will include the 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle relay. The final day of action on Feb. 16 will include the 1650 freestyle, 100 IM, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 3M diving and 400 freestyle relay.
Tickets are $15 for a day pass) and $8 per session, with student prices at $10 for a day pass and $5 per session. Children 5 and under are free. The all sessions pass for the championships are $45 for adults, $30 for students and children 5 and under free.
The Huskies placed second at the 2018 NSIC championships, while they won the NSIC title in 2017. In 2015 and 2014, SCSU competed as a member of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference after winning the NSIC championships in 2012 and 2013.  NSIC Women's Swimming & Diving first competed in 2012-13 as an eight team league. NSIC members included MSU, MSUM, NSU & SCSU. Affiliated members included Truman State, William-Jewell, Lindenwood and Nebraska-Kearney. In 2013-14 the league competed with six schools as William Jewell and Truman State left. NSIC Swimming & Diving made its return in 2016-17 as Augustana, U-Mary and Sioux Falls joined with MSU, MSUM, NSU and SCSU to make up the seven team league.
