St. Cloud State women's swim and dive headed to NCAA championships

The St. Cloud State University women's swim and dive team will be sending a large contingent of student-athletes to the upcoming NCAA Division II championships, which will be held on March 13-16 in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Huskies will be sending five divers to the NCAA championships along with two swimmers and four relay teams in 2019.
SCSU will also be sending four relay teams including its 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.

Chelsea Gehrke
The 2019 NSIC Diver of the Year, Thomsen claimed first place in both the 1M and 3M events at the 2019 NSIC championships. She is making her fourth trip to the NCAA championships and placed third in the 1M event and 8th in the 3M event at last year's NCAA championships.
Anderson hit the NCAA qualification list in 2018 for the Huskies along with Brinkman and Doherty. Both Thompson and Gehrke will also be making return trips to the NCAA championships for the Huskies.Â
Gehrke won the 50 freestyle at the NSIC championships in a time of 22.93, breaking the NSIC record previously held by Cheyenne Rove of Minnesota State (23.05 in 2017) while Jen Thompson was third with a time of 23.13. Gehrke's qualifying time ranks 6th in the nation, while Thompson's time ranks eighth. In the 100 free, Gerhke ranks 10th among qualifiers with a time of 50.56, while Thompson ranks 23rd at 50.93. Gehrke's time in the 100 fly of 55.45 ranks 21st among NCAA qualifiers.
SCSU's 200 medley relay team of Marena Kouba, Alexis Burroughs, Annie Hart and Thompson have qualified with a 17th ranked time of 1:43.38. In the 400 free relay, the team of Thompson, Gehrke, Christina Ware and Burroughs qualified with a seventh ranked time of the 3:23.58 at the NSIC meet. The 200 free relay team also qualified with a ninth ranked time of 1:33.31. SCSU's 400 medley relay qualified with a time of 3:47.53.
