
Carter Doose claims medalist honors at BSU Invitational on Sept. 9-10

St. Cloud State University freshman golfer Carter Doose made a major impact in his first collegiate tournament by capturing medalist honors at the 2019 Bemidji State University Invitational on Sept. 9-10. The two-day tournament was held at the Town and Country Club in Bemidji, Minn.
Doose led the 54 player field with a score of 140 (70-70), which was four under par for the tournament. Cody Reynolds of Minot State and Will Czeh of Bemidji State placed second with scores of 144.
As a team, SCSU placed fifth with a score of 605 (301-304) and Minot State was the top team at the tournament with a tally of 588 (295-293). Bemidji State (591), Concordia-St. Paul (602) and Concordia-Moorhead (604) completed the top four field. Manitoba and Sioux Falls placed sixth at 614 apiece and Minnesota Crookston was seventh at 616.
For the Huskies, Ryan Neff placed 23rd in the field with a score of 153 (74-79) and Spencer Hinrichs was 27th at 154 (73-81). Hunter Moen (84-74=158/35th) and Quinn Massey (89-83=172/51st) completed the field for SCSU.
The Huskies will continue their 2019-20 season on Sept. 15-16 with a trip to the King's Walk Invitational in Grand Forks, N.D.
