St. Cloud State announces new swim and dive captains for 2020-21

St. Cloud State University has announced its swim and dive team captains for the upcoming 2020-21 season. Huskies' head coach Jeff Hegle made the announcement recently at the team's year-end awards ceremony, which was held online this year due to the COVID crisis.
The men's team captains for 2020-21 will be junior Garrett Alleven (Marion, Kan./Marion H.S.), senior David Clossey (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka H.S.), senior Sam Artz (Bismarck, N.D./Century H.S.), senior Kevin Guenter (Leipzig, Germany), junior Parker Kabe (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo H.S.) and sophomore Andres Hernandez Garcia (Barcelona, Spain).

The women's team captains for 2020-21 will be senior Marena Kouba (Sartell, Minn./Sartell H.S.), senior Alexis Burroughs (Ladysmith, Wisc./H.S.), senior Casey Rawlings (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates H.S.), senior Christina Ware Ankeny, Iowa/Centennial H.S.), senior Alyssa Doherty (Cudahy, Wisc./Whitenall H.S.), junior Whitney Hanson (Ladysmith, Wisc./Bruce H.S).

SCSU won its second consecutive NSIC women's swim and dive championship in 2019-20 and qualified nine student-athletes for the 2020 NCAA DII championships. This marked the fourth time (in the last five NSIC meets) that the Huskies have claimed the league's top spot. The SCSU men's team finished fourth at the 2020 GLIAC championships and qualified one swimmer for the 2020 NCAA II championships.
