Barjesteh and Shea score in the 14th minute to lead Huskies to victory
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (5-7-2, 5-5-2 NSIC) scored two early goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Northern State (7-3-3, 6-4-3 NSIC) on Friday evening at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn. Both of the Huskies' goals game in the game's 14th minute, as junior Hannah Barjesteh (Woodbury, Minn.) and senior forward Claire Shea (Exclesior, Minn.) scored junior seconds apart to propel St. Cloud State to victory.
TURNING POINT
After a flurry of chances to score in the game's first 10 minutes for Northern State, the Huskies scored twice within a minute to take a 2-0 lead just 15 minutes in. Barjesteh scored first for the Huskies, burying a penalty kick after the Wolves were called for a handball. Shea doubled the Huskies' lead just seconds later, as she buried a shot in the bottom right of the net to put St. Cloud State up 2-0.
