MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University men's basketball team looked to keep its win streak alive when the team traveled to Moorhead, Minnesota on Friday. Unfortunately, the Huskies fell in their weekend opener to MSU-Moorhead by a final score of 97-63. Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) led the team in scoring with 16 points, while Ryan Bagley (Pocatello, Idaho / Burley) was the top rebounder with seven total.
GAME SUMMARY
St. Cloud State was playing shorthanded Friday evening, as the Huskies were down a big man, due to an injury to Josh Tomasi (Melbourne, Australia / Box Hill). The team felt Tomasi's loss inside, as St. Cloud State struggled to score points inside the paint in the first half, resulting in a 50-25 deficit at halftime. Anthony Roberts (Chicago, Ill. / Oak Park) led the Huskies scoring efforts with eight first half points.
St. Cloud State outscored itself in the second half, scoring 38 points to keep pace with MSU-Moorhead's offense. The 25 point deficit, though, was too much to overcome, as the Huskies fell to the Dragons by a final score of 97-63.
