St. Cloud State to Host Puck Drop Breakfast on Sept. 18

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The St. Cloud State Men's and Women's Hockey programs will host its annual Puck Drop Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center from 9-10:30 a.m. CT. The event will be hosted by Jim Erickson, the voice of the Huskies, and will be headlined be men's head coach Brett Larson and women's head coach Steve MacDonald, as well as team captains.
St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker and Director of Athletics Heather Weems will also be on-hand to make welcoming remarks for the events. The Puck Drop breakfast is exclusive to season ticket holders, those interested in attending the event can register for $20 at SCSUTickets.com or by calling the ticket office at 1-877-SCSUTIX. SCSU's Men's Hockey team will be looking to build off a historic 2020-21 campaign, where the Huskies were NCHC Frozen Faceoff finalists, earned its second-ever trip to the NCAA Frozen Four and advanced to the national championship game for the first time in program history. Captain Spencer Meier, who will be in attendance Sept. 18, leads a talented group of returners and newcomers on this year's 2021-22 team.
The SCSU Women's Hockey team look to continue to develop in Coach MacDonald's third season at the helm of the Huskies. Forwards Jenniina Nylund (Finland) and Klara Hymlarova (Czech Republic) recently competed for their home nations in the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championships, as they each led their teams to quarterfinals appearances. Huskies captains Kenzie Wylie and Emma Polusny will be on-hand at the breakfast for a Q&A portion of the event.
