Huskies score four unanswered to bounce back from first setback
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – After suffering its first setback of the season on Friday night, No. 2 St. Cloud State Men's Hockey (7-1-0, 0-0-0 NCHC) rebounded with a 4-1 win over Bemidji State (3-2-1, 1-0-1 CCHA) on Saturday night at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. The Beavers scored the game's first goal on a power play 2:17 into the game, but the Huskies responded with four unanswered goals, two in the second period and two in the third period to earn the victory.
The win was the final game for longtime equipment manager Jeremiah Minkel, who closed his 28-year career on Saturday.
TURNING POINT
After numerous chances in the first period, junior forward Veeti Miettinen (Espoo, Finland) finally found the back of the net on a power play goal 7:19 into the second period. The Finnish forward scored on a one-timer off passes from freshman forward Adam Ingram (West St. Paul, Manitoba) and senior defenseman Dylan Anhorn (Calgary, Alberta).

- Ingram scored the game-winning goal with a highlight score in the second period and added an assist on Miettinen's goal.
- Senior forward Jami Krannila (Nokia, Finland) scored a short-handed goal in the third period and later added an assist for two points.
- Anhorn had two assists in the game, first assisting on Miettinen's power play goal, then on senior forward Zach Okabe's (Okotoks, Alberta) score in the third period.
NOTES
- The Huskies outshot Bemidji State 36-19, its second largest shot margin of the season, trailing only its mark of 38-15 against St. Thomas on Oct. 2.
- St. Cloud State scored on the power play in the second period and improved to 6-1-0 when scoring on the power play.
- Krannila scored his third career shorthanded goal while the Huskies scored their third shorty of the season. St. Cloud State's three shorthanded goals ranks second in the nation, and trail only Ohio State's five.
- Krannila's two points give him 75 career points.
- Ingram recorded his first career multi-point game, scoring a goal and an assist. His score marked his first career game-winning goal.
- Anhorn's two assists mark the third time this season and eighth time in his career he has recorded multiple assists.
- After winning only 10 games in his first two seasons at Colorado College, junior goalie Dominic Basse (Alexandra, Va.) improved to 4-0-0 on the season with 18 saves. It marked the fourth time this season and 41st time in his career he has made at least 15 saves.
